Amici1, the honeybees gave me a secret key and said I could share it with you.
Yes, I’ve been deep in conversation with them, and I’m working on a little story about what they have to say about humans, honey, and how to find our way to a better future.
I thought the full piece would be ready for this weekend, but it’s still shaping. So in the meantime, I thought I’d send you the first bit including the very moment the bees offered me the key to their secret. And I figured it might be even sweeter in audio form, so you can hear a bit of the banter (and barter) between me and a bee over honey and a cammino2—a pathway—to something good. (A transcript is also auto-created if you prefer reading.)
The full story, Humans, like Honeybees, arrives later this month. Until then, I hope this sweetens your day.
Abbracci— big hugs,
R.G.
🌙 Upcoming: Sketching at Dusk Returns Next Wednesday (June 11)
Our next Sketching at Dusk chat opens this Wednesday evening. This low-key monthly gathering around a virtual campfire is a place to unwind after a long day in the strange landscape called Now. A clearing where we can watch the sunset, see the stars come out, and share what we’ve seen and felt along the way.
We swap stories. Trade field notes. Offer glimmers of the way forward. Or just sit back and listen.
This month’s chat is held for paid subscribers, but prompts, tiny stories, and bright-spot reflections will be shared in preview for all to enjoy. If you'd like to take part in the full chat (and receive other behind-the-scenes letters, audio, and occasional surprise perks), you can become a paid subscriber.
Come as you are. Bring nothing but yourself, put down a question you’ve been carrying, or share a load you’ve been walking with. I’ll be feeding the fire from 7:00–9:00 PM Eastern.
